HELLO, I'M
Jillian Pompo
About Me
My name is Jillian Pompo and I am a senior at South Lyon East High School in South Lyon, Michigan. I live with my parents, brother, sister, and pet cat. Throughout my high school years, I have taken learning seriously, and I have challenged myself academically by taking various honors and AP classes. Outside of school, I was a captain of my school's cross country team, a member of the varsity soccer team, secretary of National Honor Society, and a Girl Scout. My experiences in these extracurricular activities have taught me many important things such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, traveling, and babysitting. After high school, I plan to attend a university, and afterwards, I would like to become an Occupational Therapist.

Extracurricular Activities
Cross Country
I joined cross country my sophomore year after a girl on the soccer team suggested it to me. I had many great experiences being on this team like attending camp on the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore each year, and I also had some negative ones like getting shin splints my junior and senior year. Despite these challenges, I learned how to maintain a positive attitude when things get tough because I had to put my own problems aside and continue to be a good captain throughout my senior year.
Soccer
I have been on the varsity soccer team all four years I attended East. It was a great experience being able to play a varsity sport my freshman year. Through soccer, I have learned a lot about teamwork and how to have patience with other people. Similar to cross country, I suffered an injury during the preseason my senior year, but I still helped lead the team.
National Honor Society
I have been a part of NHS since my junior year. At the end of my junior year, my classmates voted me as our secretary. Through this, I learned a lot about responsibility and time management because I had to create a calendar for the whole year and assist with sending emails and taking notes.
Girl Scouts
I have been a Girl Scout since kindergarten. I earned my Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. The Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn. For my Gold Award project, I started a quilting program at a nursing home. I have also participated in many different acts of community service such as participating in an event in which kids with speical needs can meet Santa, serving a holiday dinner to elderly people, and making easter baskets for people who are less fortunate. I have learned a lot about putting others before yourself through this program.

Babysitting
I babysit consistently for a family in my subdivison during the school year and over the summer. I pick them up from school/summer camp and hang out with them at their house or sometimes go to their country club so they can swim. I also babysit for a couple other families on the weekend and during the school year but not as consistently. I have learned about being responsible from babysitting.
